West Palm Beach HardwoodAbout Teak Hardwood

Teak hardwood is an exotic style of hardwood that is growing in popularity thanks to its rich color and durability. Teak is native to southeast Asia and is a tropical hardwood that grows in mixed forests. Teak is often used in exterior construction and boat building due to its durability and water resistance. Coming in at 1000 on the Janka hardness scale, it will hold up well to everyday wear and tear.

Looks of Teak

Teak flooring is generally yellow-brown in color with a distinctive grain and texture. Teak’s natural oils create an attractive sheen and make it impervious to termites and other indoor pests. You can install teak flooring from either the heartwood, sapwood, or both. The heartwood is a brownish red color that darkens over time and the sapwood is a pale, yellow-brown color.
