Bathroom Flooring Options

The bathroom is a unique part of the home that acts as its own entity in many cases. For this reason, it is a much different project designing the bathroom than it is most other areas of the home. If you are thinking of redoing your bathroom, then consider these flooring options as they have withstood the test of time and have numerous benefits that you will enjoy over the many years that they last in your bathroom.

Tile

Tile is one of the most common bathroom flooring options, and for good reason. Tile comes in a variety of looks and styles making it possible to achieve the look you want. Tile is also durable and can withstand the amount of water exposure in a bathroom. Choosing a smaller tile and grout means you will also have a surface with friction so you do not have to worry about falling on a slipper floor, a big plus for your bathroom.

Linoleum

Linoleum is another great alternative for bathroom floors but it is not quite as versatile as tile. While the look is appealing to some, others do not appreciate the character that it brings to a bathroom. It is a cost effective way to install a floor that will work well in a bathroom.

Stone

The last option we present is more obscure than the previous options. Stone is very durable and comes in a variety of unique looks. It can be more expensive but the tradeoff is worth it if you like the look of it. Careful, though, as some stone becomes very slippery when wet which could be a big problem in the bathroom. Make sure you choose a rougher stone for this reason.
